Sir Stirling Moss gives up racing

Stirling Moss hangs up his helmet It had to come eventually – Sir Stirling Moss retiring from motor racing – but it felt like the best driver England has ever produced could go on for ever. Stirling Moss won sixteen Grands Prix in his career and became synonymous with the Mille Miglia, but his career ended in 1962 after a crash at Goodwood put him in a coma for a month. Many said Stirling could have come back after he recovered from his injuries, he just tried to do it too soon.

The Frankfurt Motor Show 2009 runs from 17th -27th September to the public Many of the Japanese makers will be conspicuous by their absence, but that should be more than made up for by the launches from the big European makers. And of course the Koreans – in the guise of Hyundai and Kia – will do what they’re starting to do in the market place and fill the gap left by the Japanese. 2013 Chevy, GMC trucks recalled for roll-away risk

General Motors is recalling 69,000 2013 full-size trucks and vans that could shift out of “park” and roll away. The recall impacts the Cadillac Escalade; the Chevrolet Avalanche, Express, Silverado HD and LD, and Suburban and Tahoe; and the GMC Savana, Sierra HD and LD, and Yukon and Yukon XL. The trucks may have been built with a fractured park-lock cable, or a deformed steering-column lock-actuator gear in the lock-module assembly.
